Styled in A Minute, Glammed in 5…

After the extended Village hiatus, my psychotic/micro-managing friends decided my Instagram feed was in desperate need of some pink content. So I was rushed to change from my PJs to something somewhat decent to attend the Benefit Pop Up Diner. Partly, for social media content, but also for my own sanity, I decided it was time to kiss the scary face goodbye. Here’s how I managed to put a lewk together under 15 minutes…

Accessorising…

The strategy: concealing the lack of thought put in this outfit with accessories. Because God forbid I actually made an effort to style myself. The oh-so-trendy pop of colour: a faux-fur clutch by an unknown designer. It was spotted by my mum in a cute little Village Boutique - and that’s the only plot twist I have for you here. The black biker boots are outdated, but always comfy and since I REFUSE to walk around with blisters all over my feet, the decision was pretty easy.

The lack of styling skills wasn’t the only thing that needed concealing…

The chronic under-eye situation and ghostly complexion HAD to go… I let the humongous sunglasses do most of the heavy lifting, so the eyes weren’t too much of a problem. Thanks to my eyelash extensions, I rarely worry about tedious eye-makeup application anyway. Besides the point… A THICK layer of my favourite Fenty Beauty Foundation, Bourjois Concealer and Too Faced Bronzer + Highliter was all it took. I will admit that the effortless manner in which I was able to get myself camera-ready comes from many, many years of awkward photos, HIDEOUS outfits, and makeup trial and error… You’re welcome.
